The Charentaise TCHA: modern French slippers

A modern item with traditional know-how.

The Charentaise slipper is a flagship of French heritage.

Born in the Charente region in the 17th century, it was, at that time entirely made of compressed felt, chosen for its waterproof properties, but also its comfort and warmth.

In the early 20th century, a Charente shoemaker had the idea to outfit the slipper with a hard sole, making it the slipper we know today.

As a traditional product, the Charentaise slipper benefits from the Protected Designation of Origin label, an official designation of quality and history.

With its elegant cuts and comfortable insoles, Tcha has taken the best from 3 centuries of tradition to introduce the best Charentaise yet.

La charentaise Tcha has been awarded a star by the Observeur du Design in 2016 which rewards to the trendiest product of the year.

All our Charentaises are available for women, men and children with sizes ranging from 28 to 46 and come in many different colours.
